The tradition of the Sunday afternoon pleasure-drive began sometime in the 1920s, a trip with no particular destination and no particular rush. We’ll be meeting at Green Leaf Cafe at 202 East Oak Street for root beet floats to-go, made with root beer from Mike’s Drive In and homemade ice cream. The Founders Institute will lead the way, as we trek through the backroads and by-ways of historic Franklin county. They’ll make a few stops along the way, tell a few stories, and we’ll make sure we have you home before Sunday supper. The destinations are unannounced, the roads are less traveled, but the time will be well spent.
Join us at 3:00 pm on June 18, July 16, and August 13.
Mark your calendars and grab a ticket for just one drive or all three. They’re all free; but please sign up in advance by clicking on the link below. You can always tip your guide if you had a good time. All ages are welcome.
